Gaucho III – born 1990 was bred at the prestigious Barian stud and was one of their principal stallions. He was first at SICAB in 1991 as a yearling, winning both in morphology and in movements. in 1992 he was first in movements at Zafra Trujillo.
As a six year old he was sold to Janne Rumbough in the USA. Before he was seven years old he had established all the Grand Prix movements and had an exceptional flair for dressage. He was exceedingly successful and was short listed for the Sydney Olympics in 2000. Unfortunately at the selection trials at the CDI he became over enthusiastic and injured himself, breaking his canon bone and therefore was unable to compete. He is currently the number one rated stallion at the United States Equestrian Federation, an extraordinary achievement for a PRE Spanish horse.
