Uranio III

Uranio III – born 1992, was a stunningly beautiful stallion with a lovely temperament, outstanding conformation, bloodlines and movements.

He was bred by the famous Spanish stud Yeguada Candau, who have been breeders of classic Pura Raza Espanola horses in Spain for six generations. Whilst at the Candau stud, Uranio was honoured to be chosen by Dr. Reiner Klimke to be ridden at a presentation in respect of the tribute to Mr. Alvaro Gomercq.

Uranio’s sire Legionario XIX is very highly regarded in Spain and is the sire/grandsire of numerous champions of Spain and Grand Prix horses, including Urdidor III, who was champion of Spain and movement champion at SICAB in 2000.

Uranio himself competed successfully at Grand Prix Dressage in the UK and competed internationally at the Spanish Sunshine Tour. At the Andalusia 2002 Championship he was awarded 74.8% for morphology and has won prizes for movement. His functionality score was 19.183.

Uranio has sired several foals and was used as a stud stallion by the highly regarded stud Algaida. His son, Carbonero XIV scored 76.105% at SICAB. Uranio sired Fuego EV, who has beautiful paces and is showing great potential.

On retirement, Uranio returned to the Candau stud to run with their mares.  His offspring is to become the basis for the future Candau horses - a great honour.
